California dreams
Last night
I dreamed of a flight
Landing at Los Angeles international
I was on board that flight
Nothing so special, looking out the window
But when I arrived it was so different from my usual residence in Virginia
And yet
I felt more at home than ever before
I met family
Made friends
And smoked the finest green
It seems
Like where I was meant to be
But sadly all good times must end
I flew back to my home in Virginia after eleven days
On the flight there
The seats felt like clouds beneath me
And when I arrived I felt like I had lost ten pounds and was light on my feet
But when I returned, I left the airport a little sore
I physically ached
And it wasn't because I was sun baked
I was wanting to return to California
And Virginia
Felt like a strange place
A lousy place
So for now I dream of a return to Cali
For good this time
I dreamed of a flight
Landing at Los Angeles international
I was on board that flight
Nothing so special, looking out the window
But when I arrived it was so different from my usual residence in Virginia
And yet
I felt more at home than ever before
I met family

And smoked the finest green
It seems
Like where I was meant to be
But sadly all good times must end
I flew back to my home in Virginia after eleven days
On the flight there
The seats felt like clouds beneath me
And when I arrived I felt like I had lost ten pounds and was light on my feet
But when I returned, I left the airport a little sore

And it wasn't because I was sun baked

A lousy place
So for now I dream of a return to Cali
