Unreturned Love
Love that cannot be returned
Like an unopened wrapped gift.
I thought that I would have learned
My lesson by now. Let me drift
Off into the other lane of traffic all
Because you did nothing to lift
Me up when I hit the hard wall
Head on. Love me, that is the only
Thing I could ever want as I fall
Hard for you. I want to feel less lonely
In this world that is going ahead.
I am just nothing but a boney
Mess as we all wait for the red
Light to turn green. Nobody can wait
Forever as we wait for love from our bed.
I am only just an unlatched gate
Waiting to be opened. When you finally
Decide to love me back it will be too late.
