Life Changes
She grows tired about eight o’clock
And pours herself a glass of wine
She’s been trying to find a new way to go
But she’s running out of dreams
It’s been a long, long time
Since she was young and full of life
But she isn’t really all that old
It’s just sometimes how it seems
And she sips her wine
As the tears slide down her face
She lights a cigarette
And blames the tears on smoky eyes
She wants to reinvent her life
She needs to find something that’s fresh and new
She has to find herself a new direction
And something new to do
Where do you go
When half of your life has gone flying by
What do you do
When you’re just oh so tired of it all
She pours herself another glass
And decides not to decide
Maybe tomorrow something new will come to mind
She sips her wine and really begins to cry
And her life keeps flashing by
As she falls asleep and dreams of a different one
And pours herself a glass of wine
She’s been trying to find a new way to go
But she’s running out of dreams
It’s been a long, long time
Since she was young and full of life
But she isn’t really all that old
It’s just sometimes how it seems
And she sips her wine
As the tears slide down her face
She lights a cigarette
And blames the tears on smoky eyes
She wants to reinvent her life
She needs to find something that’s fresh and new
She has to find herself a new direction
And something new to do
Where do you go
When half of your life has gone flying by
What do you do
When you’re just oh so tired of it all
She pours herself another glass
And decides not to decide
Maybe tomorrow something new will come to mind
She sips her wine and really begins to cry
And her life keeps flashing by
As she falls asleep and dreams of a different one
