Looking Glass Falls
the ferocity of falls
is deceptive in nature
cascading over smooth stone
warn to perfection
the beauty, sound and spray
water hitting water
in thunderous glory
mist barely visible
gathering on the wind
created by the flow,
rushing, spinning, roaring
at the base
only feet away the water
sits, so beautifully still
a mirror reflection of the sky,
trees, and the cliffs of stone
begging to be gazed into,
the water turning swiftly
just beneath the surface
those who got to close
to the endless ripples,
returned to the bosom
of earth, with a quickness
that could stop any heart
from racing to the sound
of the falls.
