Standing in the Gap.

Somethings been disturbing me,
It crawls in the night,
Not a monster,
Not a bug but he still wants to fight,
I wasn't planning on jumping in,
But there's this war that I'm in,
The word says to stand,
I have the responsibility of standing in the
gap for humanity,
These people have lost control of sanity,
They no longer stand against,
They give in,
They let him win,
But let me tell you something my friend,
That's why we are called to stand in the gap,
We are told  to withstand we don't need to fight back,
We just need to stand and it's okay if we fall through,
I know a God waiting at the bottom to catch you,
If he caught me He can catch you,
Even though you are heavyburdened,
He will catch you,
He'll keep you there until your ready to press through,
I'm standing in the gap with the responsibility
of bringing my generation back,
Back to a God who never falls or stumbles or crawls,
But see us we should never get off our knees,
Even if they burn,
The marks will go away
but we will always have eternal prayers to pray,
Jesus had marks all over his back,
We should be following his example and standing in the gap,
I'm willing to intercede for a generation obsessed with greed,
They say "it's all for me"
But seriously" There's more to life than just you,
And there's something bigger,
If only you know,
But I know you know,
Maybe you don't,
But he is bigger than I,
Bigger than we,
Even united we would not be as big as He,
He brought more than a generation back,
He did more than stand in the gap,
See before the gap he had to hang on a tree,
He had to die on the cross of calvary,
He had to love when he was cursed,
And bless those who wished him the worst,
If he did it for me he'll do it for you,
This is why we need to intercede for a
generation that see's no need.
