Putting down roots
[font=Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande]
Here we go he's gone and done it again,
yep apparently he's in love.
swears that she's the one,
sent from the heavens above.
He's known her for all of two minutes,
but apparently she's the one?
Can't remember the last ones name,
but yep that one's surely gone.
When will he learn he's a fool in love with being in love and searching for a passion that lasts?
Seems he's stuck on a 3 month glitch,
while those with knowledge are beyond rich.
Real contenders know lust and passion can fade,
but with a little time, trust and bonds are made.
Real foundations, difficult and time consuming
they may be. Just simply look at it like growing a beautiful tree...
Plant
the seeds,
tend to it carefully,
it will need a lot of light.
I'm not saying that it's easy
Its not, you won't always get it right.
There will be dark days but patience, is key.
Stick
with
----------------------------------- it ---------------------------------------
through the weathers
then you will see.
For when it's roots grow;
you'll have a love that you trust and know
a love you'll never want to let go...

Not that I make it a habit of quoting Buddy Holly songs, but "it's so easy to fall in love"...
I don't know why, but I do this too. If she's cute with red hair and freckles, I'm flat on my face in love... all the words of wisdom won't change a thing.
But speak them you must and speak them you have! Well said!

Re. Putting down roots
This is great...Love how you made the tree...I try not to get caught in that trap but I do enjoy the lust and passion phase.

Thanks Tim...I'm not much of a writer but I think, feel, write and on occasion create pretty visual art with words I don't plan it but as I'm going along it kind of just happens 😁Thanks again for the read and comment :) FC 💜

Does shock and awe cover it? Not even a start! This is pure beauty!! I absolutely adore everything you've done with it, from the carefully thought precision words and rhymes to the spacing, to the tone changes! Everything! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!! This is fantastic!

That's a damn great feeling, right?? I've had quite a few moments lately as well. It's because our subjective reality differs from that of others, which is why, these comments help to put the quality of our work into a different perspective.

Too right! 😁 ah I see...I knew you'd have a rational explanation for it 👌

I'm always rational. Maybe everyone is, even irrational people. They just don't understand the meaning behind their irrationality. However, if they did, they'd act in a different manner to achieve what their aim is. Hence the term irrationality. So, they are irrational but for a rational cause.

Good thinking... now if anyone ever says I'm being irrational in the future... I will state with confidence I'm simply being irrationally rational or rationally irrational I'm not sure which way around nevertheless I'm sure they'll get the point! 😗😄

Haha just tell them you want something but you don't know what it is. So you're acting out so someone else will figure it out for you.

It's as if you had my former self in mind when writing this. Each line touched me on a personal level and the message towards the end was just beautiful. I love this 👏

The comparison with growing a tree is wonderful! Sometimes I wonder what happened with old fashioned dating, getting to know someone first... it's almost like love became fastfood :-/
Great write, Fem!

Thanks D for reading and commenting always much appreciated:) Yeah that's an accurate analogy...unfortunately fools will continue to rush in and when the lust wears off they will move on. I saw the expression somewhere before that in today's generation if something is broken we replace it rather than fix it. It's sad that things have become expendable and even more sad people too. I love the "Milieu Concrete" cinematic production feeling of this piece, and the award winning narrative! Great write.

Great poem of the nature of fleeting relationships. You write with what appears to be the clarity of personal experience.
To me relationships are entered into in the most haphazard way, like kids building a boat with hammers and nails and scrap wood
found lying around the garage. Through many failures some figure it out and get plans, proper tools, and help from a variety of sources.
Building a boat is a complex and scientific endeavor best not to be left to chance. How much more complex is building a lasting, working, loving, relationship?
