Seasons Sleep Without Tears
The drop that kissed the dormant seed
Spouted the stem that became me
Which grew to a brilliant sun
And blossomed into your Spring flower
Pollinated by a bumbling bee
That got me buzzed then set me free
To live alone when I needed love
Was not meant to be my destiny
For I did not mean to make you cry
Did you mean to water me?
Spouted the stem that became me
Which grew to a brilliant sun
And blossomed into your Spring flower
Pollinated by a bumbling bee
That got me buzzed then set me free
To live alone when I needed love
Was not meant to be my destiny
For I did not mean to make you cry
Did you mean to water me?

Ordinarily I am extraordinarily long winded, but I woke up from a dream with these images that needed to be put into words and this is what popped out of my head. I wish I could say there was some deeper meaning, although there may have been something deeper going on in my dream. Dreams can be that way... thanks for commenting FC! JJ

JJ, this is incredibly powerful. The more so in it's few short lines. Beautiful

It was a dream that started my mind racing when I woke up. My heart was already pounding and since I was awake I decided to make some sense of it. It probably has some deep significance to me, but I am not certain. JJ

This poem has a kind of mystical feel to it. Masterpiece material. Thanks for the background information on it's birth. The poem stands on it's own without it though as you did a great job of capturing the mood.

I'm not used to being so brief in making my point. I feel like I went to work without realizing I hadn't put on my pants... lol Masterpiece material? Wow, I think I need to pat myself on the back, HA! Thanks for the very generous comment Faith! JJ

Thank you Brenda! All this high praise has me thinking I should try writing more short poems, but I know my long-windedness will get the best of me and I'll get back to writing epic tales before long... JJ

Although brief, there seems to be almost a hidden loneliness behind the
words, as if life goes on in it's beautiful way, even in sadness...

That is the story of my life... the last 33 years have been cloaked in sadness, and yet I go on and on... Thanks for the perceptive comment Kasai! JJ
