Under the Same Moon

How I wish that I could rewind time to the beginning.
To a place where you and I would have met sooner.
How I hate that my time here will end very shortly.
Now I must embrace the fact that we must part ways.

I will go unto God and plead to let us have more time.
I do not know if He will grant me my selfish request
Will He set me on an adventure or give me a quest.
All just to ensure that we can have a few more days.

My stay here these past few months has been a test.
Dear Creator, please let me have this peaceful rest.
Let my heart be at peace knowing that all will be well.
Heart, be ready for the day that we must say farewell.

From the ones that we have grown to know and love.
To the younger ones that we barely knew only a little.
Alas, a farewell to them all we must say very soon.
Night skies will shine as we are under the same moon.
