Erotic - Love in the Shadows (Part II)

Our room in this forsaken place became sacred; vows were exchanged and promises made. In a cradle of darkness, light and love were born.  True love, no doubt, but tainted by remorse.  Together, we ate from the tree of knowledge.  We sinned deeply, by loving each other with a spiritual passion. Our ecstasy in the night became a secret prayer.  And the Hall, a Temple where we confessed our eternal devotion.  Within its walls we made love and became Gods.

The mirrors in the room witnessed our passionate rituals, reflecting our ethereal beings as well as our inner demons.  We were infatuated and inebriated on the love we had tasted. And as we surrendered to our desires, our reflections began to fade and turn to dust.  In the obscure night our fate was foretold and we became apparitions.  Lovers consumed by lust and burdened with mortal sins, though the only offense we had ever committed was to love.

The guilt was unbearable as my lips tasted the flesh of her exposed neck. But there was no other way of saving Anne. Though, secretly I hoped to be wrong in my pre-sentiments, I cried and asked compassion for her soul.  Should I fail in my endeavours to rescue her, I should fail forever.  And it was certain that we would never see each other again. In another life perhaps though never as human companions.  I was reluctant to follow my heart; to steal her innocence would damn her in hell forever. But as much as I loved Anne, I could not fight against the very nature of my desire. And Anne loved me, deeply. Our bodies entangled as one and her heart murmured the words. Lost in each other, I kissed away the remnants of her innocence and made her mine.

The night embraced us and wept, while the silver moon watched as we lay in each other’s arms. A storm was brewing inside and outside the Hall. And though the damp earth welcomed the rain, it awaited her body anxiously. The emptiness that surrounded us became a dream by candle-light; and our love, another hidden secret.  Our room had once again offered a temporary escape from a haunting reality...
