Sea Bound
My lover is the ocean
My lover is like the sea
Every morning and every night
I explore her most tenderly
Crashing into me at dawn
Her tantrums change my heart’s landscape
Fearful of her wrath I trembled
Yet given a way I refused escape
Well past dusk her calm sculpts instead
Patterns and promises into the sand
I watch them as her waves kiss my feet
Standing like a pirate stranded on land
With fondest affection I watch her waver
Like the tide she comes and goes
My love leaves often and without remorse
But within my heart it only grows
I wait in eager for her return ever her faithful slave
I worship the ripples she leaves in her wake
My eyes stray not though they sting with salt
Her beauty leagues beyond any pond or lake
And always like the waves
She tumbles into my embrace
Her little laughter rolling as they race
Their way to the shore.
