Forgiveness is For the Birds
every day we talked
and the more we talked
the more I listened
learning of a person
similar in nature
common interest
kept us intrigued
becoming part
of our daily routine
every day we talked
and as we talked
I learned of a girl
who felt lonely and lost
underneath all her facade
something I sympathized with
many days we talked
learning too much
discovered she talked to others
she had deep desires
none of which were for me
I tried not to think about it
yet, I still felt jealous
maybe friendship wasn’t enough
carelessly, I pushed my feelings
every day we talked
and the more we talked
the tension built up
my resentment over took me
my anger came out in a burst
It was done
the bond was broken
all I could feel was helpless
I had to admit my wrongs
move on from the friendship
even though
I wished to stay
and the more we talked

It is part of life, but some leave a scar. Especially when you feel the reason for the disconnect is yourself.
A sad look at those who pass us by. But it is a write that I needed for my own sanity.

This is so sad and touching! I found your honesty and vulnerability beautiful to read and could really relate to the desire, the anger and jealousy. I hope you told her how you felt because sometimes people need to hear it even if the risk is you getting rejected or hurt because only then can the healing begin and I hope you are healing as I have done or perhaps I'm still working on it 😅💜

I did tell her how i felt. That's the whole reason for the friendship falling apart and for this poem. I feel it's a stupid mistake that i will always pay for.
Healing isn't easy but... day by day. Just trying to stay strong and clear minded.
