£t was on£y a £
The trouble with £ shops
is that they’ve never got the thing
you went in for
it’s sold out
then you kick yourself
that you didn’t buy it immediately
when you saw it the first time
and you always end up leaving
with something you hadn’t thought about,
something you know you wont use
even though it seems like a good idea
when you buy it
and worst of all when you’re not
sure that a thing is any good
you cautiously buy just one to start with
find you like it
and then kick yourself
because when you go back for more
they’ve all gone
and that’s almost as bad as returning home
with the £ shop solution
to a persistent problem
to find it works once
and then breaks forever
so you say: 'Oh well, never mind
it was only a £...'
but it’s good that everything is
the same price.
