Allo miso (other half)
Sadness is not a burden, but a virtue. It is
my sole possession and I carry it as I carry blatant
vulnerabilities. I adorn my languid flesh in paltry rags,
without them I am bare.
The frosted grey of my eyes are cinereous reflections
and I weep as you trace my tears with silvered tongue.
Taste my sadness, drink my lament cabernet
and quench your ardent dacryphilia.
My lover, without you I breathe moiety
even as we are destined to remain nameless between
star and moon. We embrace the agony of bestial sins,
keeping them secreted behind Cimmerian shade.
My reverie is grievous, and does not soothe me.
It brings the scent of you on a harsh winter wind,
keeping us forever distant behind sheltered valleys,
snow capped peaks, and emerald groves.
I would trade them all if only I could fall into
your arms once more.

the Greeks know what passion is;
bare beneath the rags, Kas, that's striking.

And very wise in their passion,
perhaps they laid bare those
things not known by name.
Thanks, John, for everything...

The intensity and beauty of your words runs through the page like the tears you write about here. One can almost hear a soft keening on the wind, echoing through the peaks. Tis a heartbreaking, breathtaking write you've penned here, Kasai

A couple of spelling notes first: "blatant" should be spelt thusly, as with "dacryphilia". I had to look that second one up for the word's definition. This poem taught me a few new words, I'm thankful to say, but it does often threaten to become one of those where the words stiffen the flow with their density and relative obscurity, so what should feel like a romantic poem becomes clinical and silly. Also, "Lament Cabernet" is, if I'm being totally honest, a cringe-worthy pun.
Besides those flaws, however, the poem is good. It does what your best poems always do, and creates this quasi-mystic, rich, and almost painfully exquisite atmosphere. Please accept all my criticism with a pinch of salt, as it is, after all, JMHO.

Thanks for the honesty, as well as pointing out those spellings. There are awlays a few that seem to get past me no matter how many times I check.
I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts and kind words with me, always a learning experience...

I love mysteries and subtle allusions in poems, it creates a toothsome read... This poem has a few, but I won't give them away, they are read differently for everyone who reads, that's the magic....

Yes, the mysteries, something I'm still trying to perfect. I tend to get too literal at times, but I'm working on it.
I love the way a poem can affect each of us differently, makes it unique for the reader.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and kind words...
