to the truth
I will start to understand
how ignorant

that I intended to keep

that's easier to fake
so long
as you believe
what you see on T.V
you will always
be free
from the pain of the truth
that bitter sweet taste
that the freedom
of your future
is to hard
to create

If you want to watch fake news just turn on the mainstream media. It's full of one sided bias views and propaganda. It's mass mind control. I never watch the mainstream news and when I do I question everything I hear. I'm not a mindless sheep that believes everything I'm told by the television like most people do these days. This is really good. Both the roles of parent and child are so easily felt. Almost like a discourse that could be had within the mind of a father when imagining talking to his child, struggling to face the fear of the realization that he can't give the child the future he had hoped to provide. The two-way conversation here bleeds back and forth so seamlessly. It's almost as if it happens in a single breath shared by both generations. Wonderful write. Thank you so much for sharing.

I appreciate your choice of style. It, I feel, reflects the confusion that is conveyed in your poem. Trying to come to terms with how such a covenant between father and son could be broken.
