Your Dying Breath

When we first met nature called on our souls to passionately connect
But as I stand here now all that I can hope to do is mournfully reflect
For how can I find happiness as darkness blinds my path to you?
Can you show me a future beyond whispered hints of deja vu?
Will there be nothing left of you in me but recollections of the past?
Your eyes lay closed and I feel so alone as your light is fading fast
With but one brief moment left for us to express love physically
Will time stand still just long enough to intermix emotionally?
While warmth still pulses inside of you we share our final taste off bliss
As life yet beats within your heart we touch our lips in one last kiss
Offering an enduring gift with your dying breath, I take you into me
Inhaling your aural essence to embrace you spiritually
For fading memories and images would leave my spirit empty
Now and forever your soul combines with mine to mate eternally
