Using a Bandaid Works Faster than Ignoring the Pain
Sending out my love
(As I still do)
Even my denatured thoughts
Will not forget the existence of you
Nor the overwhelming relief
Of the absence of you
I am no longer full
Of the dread of my said
I am no longer tense
Over what you might break
I am no longer sad
At the gulf I can't cross alone
Or the fact that even when you were
You were never home
So in it's place
I send out my love
And hope that it heals
The weals left in place
(As I still do)
Even my denatured thoughts
Will not forget the existence of you
Nor the overwhelming relief
Of the absence of you
I am no longer full
Of the dread of my said
I am no longer tense
Over what you might break
I am no longer sad
At the gulf I can't cross alone
Or the fact that even when you were
You were never home
So in it's place
I send out my love
And hope that it heals
The weals left in place
