Somewhere we belong

Suddenly i am in front of a fence,
and it disappears right in front of me.
So i run and i run  and i run further away.

Away from all the homes and the mountains.
I try not to look back at the bright yellow
city lights that seem so far away.

Suddenly i am back. Back to the place
where we were together.
Where we use to run,
as if there was something chasing us.

Where we felt the wind
flowing through our hair.
And i can hear a laugh coming,
with the breeze that blows my skirt.

I can almost hear you standing next to the grass
and between laughs you scream to me
"Look I am as tall as them"

I can almost see you running with open arms.
The sun shining on your face and your smile.
You overflow with life.

I am so happy to have found our place
and it is only ours.
I close my eyes and when i open them,
I can see the night sky.

I can no longer feel the tiny grass in my fingers,
And the sky is becoming embelished with more
and more stars, their light blinds me.
But it is not only white, I can see pink lights.
I can see blue and purple…

They dance around me,
circling me. I watch them,
the multicolor lights.
You sent them to me, I am sure.

And i promise you i will take care
of our little place, where I can see you.
Where I lose myself into the sky.
Where we can laugh and run again.
