"Forgotten Here I Lay"

Forgotten here I lay a faceless name engraved in stone
Forever bound to this beach in France they deemed Juno
In my Canadian greens tainted and stained with the blood of my devotion
Though that flag of Red and White I was none the happier to defend and protect
I can’t help but ponder the truest concept of why I was sent.
The sounds of that plague-riddled day forever replayed
Enslaved by the sand painted in blood, the waves of the water by which we crept
By the theory of Stone Tape they are perpetually kept
As if on an eternal loop this fucking horrid day will never be laid to rest.

As if on an eternal loop this fucking horrid day will never be laid to rest
Nor shall I, forgotten here I lay a faceless name engraved in stone
Whose burden is the sacrifice of thy life to own?
I followed every command, slayed every enemy who raised a violent hand
Without question or complaint I acquainted myself with Lucifer’s madness
Though I was told, promised in fact, that I and the Homeland had an unbreakable pact!

Forgotten here I lay a faceless name engraved in stone
Forever bound to this Asian country they deemed Vietnam
In my Canadian greens tainted and stained with the blood of my devotion
Though the flag of Red and White I was none the happier to defend and protect
I can’t help but ponder the truest concept of why I was sent.
The sounds of that plague-riddled day forever replayed
Enslaved by the villages painted in blood, the grass of the fields upon which we crept
By the theory of Stone Tape they are perpetually kept
As if on an eternal loop this fucking horrid day will never be laid to rest!

Though I was told, promised in fact, that I and the Homeland had an unbreakable pact
Amiss I would be though to not admit I am not totally forgotten
For one day a year I feel myself and thy brother’s remembered.
The love of a Nation I bestowed on all of us who
Fell, and now respected here we lay,
Smiling down content and truly honored to simply be
Remembered!

Remembered here I lay a faceless name engraved in stone
Forever bound to these mountains they deemed Iraq
In my Canadian greens tainted and stained with the blood of my devotion
Though the flag of Red and White I was none the happier to defend and protect
I can’t help but ponder the truest concept of why I sent.
The sounds of that plagued-riddled day forever replayed
Enslaved by the deserts painted in blood, the storms of the sands in which we crept
By the theory of Stone Tape they are perpetually kept
As if on an eternal loop this this fucking horrid day will never be laid to rest!

Was it all worth it?
What was its meaning?
Why is our Home forgetting?

Forgotten here I lay a faceless name engraved in overgrown stone
Those who sent me away said words of bravery, honor, and tenacity
But no all I hear is echoing voices of

Fuck them all!
