Tears
a proud man walks down a broken path
his collar up, head down, back straight
rain beats down upon his back
a tear runs down a stony cheek
falling into an endless stream
a red tear among the transparent
a poet
beaten down by all the rest
a red tear turns pink
until it turns transparent
unless...
a proud man walks down a broken path
his collar up, head down, back straight
rain beats down upon his back
a tear runs down a stony cheek
he is alone or so he thought
the man is joined by another
and another...
and another...
a tear runs down their cheeks
more men come
a tear runs down their cheeks
the transparent turns pink
until...
a broken woman walks down a broken path
no collar, head down, back bent
rain beats down upon her back
tears run down scarred cheeks
a flood or red against the pink
She straightens and sings
now the world is free
free to be bold
And the water turns red

HI there, thank you for sharing your work with us, I found this poem rather well done and interesting. The repetition of it reveals I think a certain sad monotony of life, the constant beating down of life like rain like tears. Welcome to this here little tribe, I hope you stick around
