Home War

She’s looking pale and weak/ and feeling like her whole week’s
Been lived in one single day/
Falls to her knees and begins to pray sayin’/
“Lord, please just release me from these chains/
I know you’re ashamed, but it’s not me who should be blamed/!
I kneel before you drained, maimed, and afraid/
Tell me what I have to do for these debts to be paid/”
She’s broken down with tears in her eyes she cries/
Thinking about the three Battlefield Brother’s that gave their lives/
And she don’t know where to go from here
Filled with so much fear/
As her heart begins to break and tare/
It strips her naked so all she has is
Hatred painted across her face/
And the memory of that darkly lit place
That led to the betrayal of her conscious/
And robbed her of seeing the beauty in calmness/
But honey I swear I’m gonna help ya rise
From these ashes like a phoenix/
You’ll be flyin’ again cuz this ain’t where you end
It’s only where you and I begin/
I know you’re a Soldier, but even you need a shoulder
When ya can’t carry on/
There’s nothing wrong just listen to the words in this song/
Baby I love you and I’ll never be gone/
Always gonna be right by your side as we navigate
Through the treacherous horrors of your Home War/

CHORUS
The nightmares the tears the visons, the fears/
Oh dear I swear they don’t exist here/
There’s nothing but us let those memories fade to dust/
There’s nothing for you to fight or survive with me by your side/
You’ll see, everything it’ll be alright/
When day turns to night and you’re looking down the sight/
At the sight of your Home War/

I can see the cracks in her armor made of stone/
And they’re pulling her down, making her drown/
The bright and sunny days turns to gray as she slips away/
Into another nightmare that takes her back over There/
she’s searchin’ for a reason tryna find the meaning/
But all it’s causing is mourning and more and more suffering/
Because she thinks that the weight of the pain of conflict is hers to bear alone/
And until she can atone the Brother’s she’s lost
Will never be able to move on/
But you’re trapped in the darkest of nights
Let me pull ya to the dawn/
Baby if ya trust me it won’t be long until you’re back on your feet/
So come on in my love sit down and kick d’em boots off/
You done fought for me and this Country
Now it’s about time I oughtta show ya what that means to me/
Because honestly/ I’m so thankful for your Service
So honey please let the emotions rise to the surface/
Ya know you don’t gotta be nervous cuz I’m right here
With the love and care equivalent to a thousand nurses/
And I’m gonna be right by your side as we navigate
Through the treacherous horrors of your Home War/
So pick yourself up off the floor/
Yeah I can tell you’re shaken to your core/
But girl that bloodshed and gore doesn’t have any relevance anymore/
But still I can see that

CHORUS
The nightmares, the tears, the visions, the fears/
Oh my dear, I swear they don’t exist here/
There’s nothing but us let those memories fade to dust/
There’s nothing for you to fight or survive with me by your side/
You’ll see everything it’ll be alright/
When day turns to night and you’re looking down the sight/
At the sight of your Home War/

Uh because the pain of the weight of conflict
You don’t gotta bear alone/ the Brother’s that past/
The loss of them is not yours to own/
I can see cracks in your armor made of stone/
You’re a Soldier but I’m your shoulder
Forever gonna be the holder of your crown/
And when you’re feeling like your back in Hell
I’m gonna be the one holding you down/
And when I get cha in that gown I’ll make ya feel human again/
Nah we don’t gotta hit just wanna help ya get through this shit/
So fuck all the nightmares even though

CHORUS
The nightmares, the tears, the visons, the fears/
Oh my dear, I swear they don’t exist here/
There’s nothing but us let those memories fade to dust/
There’s nothing for you to fight or survive with me by your side/
You’ll see everything it’ll be alright/
When day turns to night and you’re looking down the sight/
At the sight of your Home War/
