What if...

What if I told her " I love you "?
Would she have embraced those three little words
Or dismissed them as things she have heard
Or feelings she just don't deserve?

What if I had said " that you will forever be mine "
Or that " a love like ours will last a lifetime "?
Would she have thought of it as another line
And that a love like that is impossible to find?

What if I told her " the feelings that I felt are real
and not in the moment of lust or cheap thrills"?
Would she have stayed just a little longer?
So we can make whatever this is a little stronger?

These were the questions that were rushing through my head.
As I she walked away from my bed.
and with me no longer a boy, but a man.
