First love
A story that begs the question as to why
two hearts they meet and one says goodbye
It was another case of love at first sight
everything just fell impossibly right
he fell for her, a charming young man
she said yes too, with hand in his hand
a man full of passion that was on show
a lady of reason with eyes full of glow
his love unconditional was hard to believe
she just couldn't fathom a bit too naive
she just couldn't take that love can be pure
the scars on her body show what she'd endured
in the end she left him on a cold winter's night
the demons inside her blinded her sight
desolate and desperate he found love again
no one could equal she flowed in his veins
every love making he'd utter her name
utterly oblivious to the present dame
he'd develop some feelings for every new girl
sooner or later back to her he'd swirl
he just couldn't rub her memory from heart
in all but physical she left with that part
true peace eluded every move he made
his life was a desert lacking any shade
he wandered the streets and alleys at night
the homeless the broken took pity at his sight
a night of full moon by the ocean side
he witnessed her image on the incoming tide
with joy on his face and a steady stride
he leapt to the wave and let body glide
a jogger next morning called the police
two bodies found with faces at ease!
