Fox and The Moon

Oh Lady Luna how high you fly
On your silver chariot across the midnight sky
If you where mine all would be right
Together we would bathe in your lovers light

Mr Fox your words are so very kind
Though my cycle is short I think you will find
Caught as I am in this monthly story
For a short time only will you see my glory

Your rise I have seen to full lumination
From then I have loved you, that's with out question
For you I have search all of my life
It's time to leave your chariot, come be my wife

Mr Fox please don't tease
My curse is so I can never be free
Trapped in this race around and around
Never again can I come to the ground

Darling Luna I would never tease you
This world will not stop my passage to you
I will search out the heist mount
Then reach out and hold you on that you can count

From then on Fox's hunt had begun
Day after day, harsh season after season
From point to point he would climb high
Each time coming short, together they'd cry

Sweet Mr Fox please stop this quest
Our separation is probably for the best
I'll remain on this course so far above
Please go and find someone else to love

Resigned to their fate Mr Fox walked away
To live a lonely eternity each night and day
Many were the suitors but try as they might
None could compare with Luna at her height

Mr Fox by a lake one day he did spy
Luna Dear Luna come heed me, he cried
You're here in you glory above and below
We can now be together this certainty I know

He swam the lake to the reflection from above
They did come together to swim, laugh and love
Luna eventually took her leave, that's not the end of the story
For she swore to return whenever she reaches her glory
