It's That Or Struggle

Let no one mean as much to you
as you might mean to them
No one cries of a traitors lies
when mutiny's in the air
Always speak, unless spoken to
then try to remain silent
so you can speak and be at peace
when he's gone off to find it

Seek without looking
If its lost its still around
But if they hide, don't try to find
because some just can't be found

When the world lets you go
no longer requiring a thing
from you, for you
It's safe to go, no matter what you bring

Don't come along for someone elses sake
surely they'd rather be alone
because when you ask for the given task
you'll wish that you stayed home

Don't answer them if it matters
ask when they are scared
Usually though there's nothing to know
for those who just don't care

So sit when its time to hunt
you're too clever as the prey
they'll fend for you then run away
too week for the food chain
Commit to things you just cant do
don't clean up the easy mess
they'll never judge you by who you saved
but how you failed the rest

So laugh when they're all serious
cry when you see them smile
Just relax, all people pass
you up if you give them a while

So give up when you're winning
feed the guy a lie
He'd end up getting past you
toward the finish line

Read yourself a movie
Rent yourself a book
All that's said cannot be read

Write when no one understands
when your words might mean the least
As your stupidity dies you'll come to
find, you're just as easily pleased

So make a point of letting go
but don't make a point of giving
When you're up against the very best
its the earliest way of living
