I once knew you
I once knew you,
It was a long time
From now,
I once knew you,
And we drifted apart
Somehow.
I once knew you,
When it was too good
To be true,
And I once knew you,
Now there is very little
That we can do.
I once knew you,
All is forgotten
Once we bade adieu,
And I once knew you,
As someone with a different
Point of view.
I once knew you
As a friend
To trust into.
And I once knew you
As one to whom happiness was
Still yet never due.
I once knew you.
As the only person
I ever only knew.
And I once knew you
As the first drop.
Of early morning dew.
I once knew you
As the ocean
Befriending storms
And I once knew you
As the one with ever
Open arms.
I once knew you
Yes..I once knew you
And I know that
You knew me too...
It was a long time
