Who shall ever rate me on their own scale
Understands not how I value my thought
My questions are pointless when given a grade
For is our right not to think what we want?
One of us thinks while the other observes
Simple criticisms in place of real help
I do not hate them for their lack of help
Nor do I grade them on anyone’s scale
I only heed that which their eye observes
Not phased by common or passing thought
I listen, however, but all that I want
Is life to give me a passing grade
For I will work for life’s stern grade
Even though I may never have help
Life does not care about what we want
Yet the opportunist lives by his own scale?
Now that subtle irony deserves some thought
As it is not what the outward eye observes
What is it that the outward eye observes?
I am not inside simply giving a grade
I am forced, however, by my thought
But I try to transcribe it so that it may help
Can you say the same of your criteria and scale?
They must consider what we truly want
We have little time to attain what we want
The truth is past what our eye observes
Nothing comes of ratings on a scale
He cares not about another’s grade
His care lies in how much we help
Others who downplay their thought
The poor in spirit yet not in thought
Simplicity is not what we want?
Blissful ignorance can truly help
Free from what the cruel eye observes
Free from others giving a grade
Free from everything but His scale
His simple help can save us from thought
His scale of simplicity which is what we want
He observes us while never assigning a grade
Understands not how I value my thought
My questions are pointless when given a grade
For is our right not to think what we want?
