unruly
frayed mesh of hair,
unplugged at the roots,
blankets the floor- soft, unruly.
he lathers my skin with his spit,
breathes cold stinging smoke in my ear,
and fear, silent, presses into my stomach.
each pore a door,
faithfully opens and
swallows the fumes, perfume, while,
stucco hardens my face, I become,
desirable memorial,
burial stone, cold flesh.
later I scrape and it flakes off in swathes,
takes flight, like I do,
into space.
