Milestones
I'm worn-in
In all
the lived in ways..
"With the changing of seasons
And an accumulation of reasons
I have changed
And
I'll never be the same"
Stardust remains
deep within these veins
Whist wishes and dreams
stay tucked in the pockets
of old jeans...
Still my arms
do reach
My eyes
do search the skies
My fickle feet
do plant themselves
On firm
and rich ground
-Forever searching for magic
That's waiting to be found
I know more
about a lot...
And less
about the more...
Though with each milestone passed
I take what I didn't have before
I leave pieces of me behind
-Like broken glass
inside an open door...
I leave these parts of me
behind as signs
The broken shards
of my heart
The littlest of lights
that shine in the dark
-Forever more
I Hope that they may guide...
I pray they play their part...
I hope my fellow ponderers
wander passed
their lines that bind...
I pray they too
hear the song of the lark
And follow it
with worn-in hearts
-Forever more
