No Questions, Just For Tonight

Twice, I died
holding you in my bare arms
feeling weight of
unspoken words
unfinished dreams
cradling unshed tears
gasping at unfamiliarity
of tranquility
the vast space of our lovebed
the divide;
listening to shards of songs
jarring through velvet scars.

Come,
lay on my lap

I'll tell you a tale
of Starry Starry Night
emblazoned with sapphire stars
burning hearts, churning desires
coy smiles lured with daisy hearts
making love on carpet'd dandelions
watching the sun chase the moon
and the moon chase the sun
eclipsed by three words
engraved in memory.

Fold,
your fragile trust

Inside my womb
like a crescent moon
cover yourself with
ashen regrets
then blow them against
mournful winds
swooned with lullaby
I'll cherish your wounds
with sacrilegious tears.
No questions
just for tonight.

Come,
lay on my lap

For dying once was not enough
I would gladly die with you, twice.
