-lost in the dark
I knew you ages before the sky was deep blue; when
I wasn't looking for a way to escape winters grasp, before
dismay starts freezing, leaving stark reminders of our meeting
on the long sides of my unwilling face; though, deep down I
know it will all be okay no matter what happens and perhaps
my thoughts will be happy to have the ice...
when I hear your voice my heart dances with every new
moment; I find myself in a place where everything is out of
reach, yet every evening I stow it all away with an evensong
I only ever believe in when it's convenient, but that's a different
letting I'll keep for later...
been sitting here thinking of how the earliest stars were sent into the
abyss; somehow finding their way as they learned how to play with
elemental dust from eons dead brothers and sisters who pioneered
what it means to be alone; with time on their side slowly and more
sure than a turtle stalking spawning beds of fat and tired trout
they connected each tiny spec building a system of galaxies, which
appear to go on forever; it's this same eternal force that pulled our
souls together whether or not the reason be large or small; I wanted
to believe it was to smile, laugh, to hold onto nothing more than a grain
of sand, taking one another by the hand to float away cautious but unafraid
like those first stars who found themselves forever drifting, lost in the dark...
