Stranded (rewrite)
We were like the boats afloat the surface of liquid so cool it calmed each caress, and the bodies in sync to the rhythm of words lulling each limb together in motion like sleep, so effortless paddling was with your steady hands, so secure in your grips, so carefree, so careless, yes your hands grew careless with the line and I spoke and you jumped and we drifted but you disregarded the line I kept throwing to salvage the words that severed our soothing sync, and you caressed the sinking line before you swam like a fish in flight terrified of what our rhythm in mind and motion had come to mean, and there fallen like a dropped line my surface swirling, secured in only my rotting affections of abandonment contemplating the float and the fall and how far stranded, yes how far stranded my sunken smile had come.
