 The way you screw up sometimes
In a letter,
and you scribble out an important word
It's
the way you improve on a previous statement
and leave me hanging

This is in no way close to home

this will in no way coexist

but please,
for my eyes,
correct a word
and gently persist

with what you needed to say

I value your word
your world
and it's important to me

to hear it right the first time

I've been holding on
like a one person show,
like a delicate crazy person,
able to crumble like stone
frozen for words
I mumble and moan
out of focus
