Oligarchy and salvation (the establishment of the nation)
Light casts
Through colored glass
As hymns sung by
The upper class
Imply their warm salvation.
And veterans; broken
Stand outside, a token
Their muttered prayers
As good as unspoken
For these saviors of the nation.
They light candles
And bow at clay sandals
Before closing confession doors
To testify of their scandals
Of giving into temptations
While children can’t sleep,
After nothing to eat
Stomachs growling
For a scrap of meat
Settling for imagination
Oh, the nerve
Of those convinced they deserve
More than the people
They were elected to serve,
Wealthy from citizen’s excessive taxation
When is the time for it to come to an end?
Blessed are the rich because they have sinned
They have stolen from the poor
So they have more to spend
On the establishment of degradation.
