Paradox of Sex

 Mankind reproduces
By exchanging sexual juices;
An intimate process
Two people in congress.
Frequent copulation
Will maintain our population.
The action was made a pleasure
To encourage this leisure;
Pregnancy was the upshot
Even when not sought.

Our society today
Has devised another way;
When useing the pill
Pregnancy near to nil.
Sex for reproduction;
A secondary function.
Recreation holds sway
Everyone can play;
Can we all agree
Sexuality is now free?
