A Flare for the Modern Romance  (Re Edit*)

.

He said before he left,

Leave the door ajar, keep the
flares unboxed Just in case

To light them if i was in distress, on
those long days, bewildering nights
when nothing seems to voyage so
smoothly without him at the helm.

He said before he left

Not to let the pen dry up
to keep the ink bleeding,
those thoughts flowing

He'd find them
If I needed him to know

He kissed me
before he left
the door ajar.

Eight hours 16 minutes

Flares not touched
But my thoughts are flowing.
