I Wanna Remember Love

I wanna remember love
And how it caressed my soul
Eased my mind
Made me feel light
I floated on many a could nine’s

I sang songs
That had the most beautiful melodies
I wrote poetic lines
That could reach out
And turn the coldest man sweet
They flowed from the depths of me

I wanna remember love
And all the laughter it brought
All the wisdom it taught
It wasn’t all bad
So I just wanna soak up the good times
Remember the goose bumps
That trailed up and down my spine

I wanna remember love
The hues of colors it brought into my life
I became an artist
Every time I closed my eyes
Love was my muse
It brought me inspiration

I wanna remember love
And all the dreams
That was conjured up in my mind
Had me believing in forever
I just knew
I would have the happily ever after

I wanna remember love
In every season
Remembering the different ways
It transformed my life
Mirrored back me
So I could see myself
And allow growth
To take me to another level

I wanna remember love
And how it taught me
To love with purity
Love from the heart
Put ego to rest
It’s not always about being right
It’s knowing when to say I’m sorry
How to let the little things go
Understanding
That everything doesn’t have to turn into an argument
And compromise is the way to go
Meeting each other in the middle
And forgiveness is the healthy way to make love last
It’s about knowing when to push
And when to back up
When to talk and when to truly listen
Being able to tap into empathy
Feeling another as your own self

Love taught me a lot
And for that I am truly grateful
Never mind the bumps in the road
They teach valuable lessons
Love is there to heal
So often times it provokes the hidden
To rise to the surface
In order for you to deal with your past

Often times the issues and arguments can be avoided
When you realize
It’s not that person you are mad at
But, they pushed a button
Set off a trigger
That ignited a flame
Hidden deep in your subconscious

Two people are brought together
To work through their issues
It’s only when we acknowledge that fact
And go through the process in a healthy fashion
Would we ever be able to truly heal
And make love last

We must take a moment
See the reflection
Reflecting back
See ourselves
And truly allow growth to happen

Because,
That is the reason
Love came into your life
It’s there to truly transform each person
Helping you also to love from the heart
Putting ego to rest
Love and the ego can’t reign together in harmony
It’s virtually impossible

So I wanna not forget love
Or curse its existence
I wanna acknowledge love
For all the growth it brought
For all the lessons it taught
For all the smiles and laughter
For the peace and safety
And for even some tears it caused me to shed
I wanna always remember the feeling love gave

**** **** ****

Find your peace
Find what makes you happy
And bask in it
Only you have the power to find happiness
Another person only enhances the happiness
That already existed within you
Never lose yourself for love
For you will only live to regret it
Stay true to YOU
And love will always win no matter
How the cards are dealt

In life there are no guarantees
Just have faith you’re on the right path
Bringing you into your destiny and purpose
Because no matter what you go through
Good or bad
It all serves a purpose
And brings about growth and wisdom

**** **** ****

To everything and everyone
I say thank you
For the lessons
And to LOVE
A bigger thank you
For you taught me a lot
About myself
Because love was my mirror
And because of love
New life now grows inside of me
