My misunderstood friend (the story of a failed suicide)

Everybody thinks that you're so cold,
You've been around for a while that's what I'm told,
We met when my grandpa passed I was 2 months old,
I've always felt protected by you even when life was less then gold,
Then when I got older I got to know you better,
Searing pain branding brought us closer together,
You like to visit car crashes and hospitals even newborn babies,
You only have one hobby and most people think it's crazy,
You thrive on war and violence,
But you never get to say how sweet is the silence,
At all times you're surrounded by quiet,
When you called to me I don't know how I survived it,
I was sixteen and nothing but mad,
But your idea didn't seem too bad,
Bingeing in my own addiction it was pretty sad,
When the come down hit I saw how beautiful you are,
Going to meet you was easy you were never very far,
Bottle of vodka and a bottle of pills was the key,
At least that's what you told me,
So I went along blindly,
Is that why everything went black?
Why do I feel like there is no coming back?
My friend, why are my feet going numb?
Why can't I feel my tongue?
This is scary,
I can't move barely,
Screams and shouts feels like I'm drowning,
But my journey to you is crowning,
I can feel my blood pressure dropping,
I could feel my heart...stopping,
I saw a tunnel at the end there's a light,
Where are you? You told me it would be alright?
Everything is so bright!
Meadows clouds rivers and angels it was a beautiful sight,
But then you told me that it was not my night,
You're cold embrace never felt so hot,
Felt like I was burning but I was not,
Then when I woke up I broke down,
My whole life I just felt like a clown,
But you gave me a present that won't go to waste,
I guess it was just a taste,
But still I appreciate the gift,
I don't know when is the next time you'll give me a lift,
But when you do I'll be breathing my last breathe,
And be re-united with my misunderstood friend: Death.
