Serena
she sits beside me
she is incredibly precious
a beautiful bundle of sunshine,
gift wrapped in a three year old body
she smiles at me mischievously
her hands filled with a bubble bottle
that she'd like me to help her with,
just to open it mind you
she holds it in her lap
and produces a long wand
she purses her lips and blows,
showering me with bubbles
giggling all the while, as I try to catch
one and hold it for her
she wraps her small arms
around me, and kisses my cheek
to know of pure joy, trust and innocence
sweet as sugar, to see that life is filled
with so much wonder,
all one must do,
is spend a little time with a child
