The Tree
The night grew as a rapid tree
Capturing my attention and with it
All I could be
This tree of uncertainty
Is quietly consuming
Reusing men of past lore
I haven't fathomed such
But if not for the sudden rush
This tree is capturing
Birds, bees
All the other trees
To the moon we go
A spaceship
A star, a star
Gone afar
Black uneasy abyss
Has death visited?
Like a slumbering leaf
Slowly decompose
Where am I, where am I?
Not a single soul knows.
Capturing my attention and with it
All I could be
This tree of uncertainty
Is quietly consuming
Reusing men of past lore
I haven't fathomed such
But if not for the sudden rush
This tree is capturing
Birds, bees
All the other trees
To the moon we go
A spaceship
A star, a star
Gone afar
Black uneasy abyss
Has death visited?
Like a slumbering leaf
Slowly decompose
Where am I, where am I?
Not a single soul knows.
