My Life
How does one go by escaping this realm of reality?
Run away from facing the present
Evanescence
Become subdued in a world of joy
Less sorrow and violence
I reach for the sun as a sign of my success
For I have been blessed
Beyond my years of frustration
Lead to meditation
Determination
On my part
I sought a home stress free
A high level of degree
Standing tall as the highest tree
To be me
Strive to be the best
Overcame society’s test
To hold me back from what’s mines
Pull open the curtains for it’s my time to shine
Shed a tear nomore
There is happiness where pain used to har-bor
Where is this poem going?
I don’t know
Just ride this magnificent journey
Stick with me like an attorney
No it will not be rainbows or perfect pictures
Bible scriptures
Pass through these laws
Like the halls In high school
Where I played cool
Nobody’s fool
Use my knowledge as a tool
A stepping stone for the next level
Shot the devil In the face
To my disgrace that bastard still lived
Came back to disrupt my flow
To blow
Me off the path that God has put me on
The seed He has sown
I am the epitome of a Phenomenal Black Woman
That was told I wouldn’t amount to shit
Still held my head high
and bit My tongue
Held back the breath in my lungs
Stone clocked heart made by Smith and Wes-son
If I can do it
You can to
Never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do
Live life for you
And you alone
Be mature and on your grown Woman/Man ish
To receive more bliss In life
Im just giving you advice
But within you is the key
To your own destiny
Run away from facing the present
Evanescence
Become subdued in a world of joy
Less sorrow and violence
