Old Grey Town

There ain't too many vines left
in this old glowed grey town
but I found
a petrified tomato
in the little corner of an alley
tucked behind the broken roller coaster
with giant faded letters reading
"Montezuma's Revenge" on a rusty pink sign

That got me to wondering
if that pink sign was red before
if that tomatoe had a brother
or was soft before
if there was a girl with a polkadotted dress
chewing bubble tape in line for the coaster before

There ain't too many vines left
in this old glowed grey town
And that got me to wondering
about the other grey towns
