Empty glances
I had been waiting for you
to address the sentiment
but perhaps I was wrong
and it was never a sentiment,
to you.
Not that you can, or you should,
but life seems too precious and fleeting to be not making eye contact
in corridors
where lights flicker.
We're watering a flower
that might never see the Sun
of the many Suns
that revolve,
somewhere near,
seemingly about this place.
