GAME OVER

Spaces in our togetherness,
Left my heart filled with tenderness,
All I wanted was forgiveness,
So i could mind my own business,
Seems this love is an illness,
Spreads from the heart to the breain,
A deadly virus,
Everywhere like papyrus,
I wanted to find a cure,
Because now I'm not sure.

Not everyone likes strawberries,
Not everyone has to eat strawberries,
Now you think looks can be deceiving,
My mind perceiving,
My pain revealing,
It fills up to the ceiling,
I start unpeeling,
Like an onion,
With each layer a tear falls,
They can no longer hear my call,
No longer stall,
It is indeed a brawl,
The loser will have to crawl,
Who will tragedy befall.

You called them "poems of detachment",
Well they show that all that's left is a fragment,
Use your discernment,
I lay here stagnant,
Once a flowing river of love,
Now a swamp of hatred,
Soon to be a spring of hope,
And an Ocean of happiness,
I am better off without you,
You are better off without me.

I long for the days I spent with you,
Without you in them,
I have finally found another,
Who in the end I will not need to run,
Indeed words bleed,
Other's eyes feed,
Our love no longer  creed,
We were both freed,
I fleed,
We both held the deed,
To the dreams we hoped to build,
The castles in the sky we built,
I was the contractor,
You were the planner,
Together we were the architects of our love,
To the land we used to run away to,
Days filled with pleasure,
Which were of no measure.

The truth is your words are no longer a fuel,
It is no longer a duel,
This is cruel,
It has come to an end,
I will no longer depend,
Try to defend,
Nor pretend,
The time has come to fend,
This is what I intend.
