Less Than An Afterthought

A termite laced board am I
Small like a child, yet I try
Lure you into the washroom
Tales of blue doom
Shove me from this ledge
What a remarkable edge

The pearl white afterthoughts
My uselessly lingering tongue
All of these fights I fought
One by one I waste
As I ride fireflies
To your terrible taste

I'd die to be able to
Cling to whatever you cling to
Whenever you cling to it
I'm the center of the clique
A single word from you dear
And I'd jump from here
You live in a fragrant peach tree
I am a sad, out of season cherry
Vanish I do as your father said I should
Now this day is gay, all are merry
