Through the Night

When dusk fell
It brought with it the coloured lights that paint the skies
And silhouettes the roses
That we planted

When the moon rose
It shifted the tides of the enduring ocean close by
And changed natures melody
That we danced to

When the stars appeared
They lit up the sky like a million souls content and at peace
And enlightened the feelings
That we cherished

When the clouds came
They covered all we hold dear in perpetual darkness
And brought us together
In love and fear

When the proud sun rose
It ignited the earth and renewed the beauty of the things we take for granted
And it reminded me
Of you.
