Sovngarde

I felt the wild wind of northern planes
sing its way through my hair
as i took a step through the door of sky
it felt like home, it would wait for my life
i felt the summer breeze of northern lands
as my fingers hovered above the waking grass
as i took a step through the door of sky
i will return after i die
I felt the untamed soul of northern forests
as all went through me that passed on
and i felt like one with the world
but then i saw your smile
playing in the fields of never ending time
and i smiled myself, seeing the most beautiful of beings
but then the horns roared
and the thunders cried
why are you here ?
why are you here ?

why ?

*This poem is inspired by a Skyrim fanficion that i read, the idea was: The main hero is in love with a certain guy with whom he fights in the war, before the final battle they split saying goodbye, hoping to see each other after it is done. The main hero ends up entering the Sonvgarde ( something like heaven ) in order to kill the main nemesis and get back from there, but as he is there he spots his loved one there, realizing that he died in the battle. I just find this to be extremly sad and amazing idea to write about :D Credits to OpalBee on archiveofourown.
