What A Parent is Supposed to Be
Whether it was a one night stand or a long term thing between you
When you bring a life into the world, you give that child your best, and everything it's due
You gave up your right to freedom, the clubs, letting down your hair, the minute you gave birth
No time for second thoughts, get it together
Children are a gift from GOD and with it comes a huge responsibility
Do not take your frustration(s) out on them, look in the mirror give yourself the 3rd degree.
Your privacy, forget it, you no longer can go to the bathroom without some knocks
You find yourself saying clean your room, pick up your trash, go sit down, don’t
forget to pick up your socks
You are supposed to be their role model, not a basketball or reality TV star
To hell with the rapper and his big booty girls sitting on top of an expensive car
When you get down to it, a parent has an unending role your responsibilities never ends
Your child or children will need you from the minute they are born @ that secure feeling like a friend
Get off of Facebook, stop texting, rise up and get involved in your child’s life
Teach them about how to save $, speak proper English, how to be a good husband or a wife
Guess what you either be proactive and get involved on the front end of life's scale
Otherwise, you will work harder on the back end trying to keep your kid or children out of jails
Remember your kids will see life from the angle of your eyes
From that angle, give them a chance to reach high and for the skies
Stop making excuses and blaming it on your past
Break the cycle of abuses; stop being a victim @ break through that glass
Entering parenthood, accept the fact you are no longer free
The responsibility is what it is, that is what a parent is supposed to be
When you bring a life into the world, you give that child your best, and everything it's due
You gave up your right to freedom, the clubs, letting down your hair, the minute you gave birth
