Diamonds Hiding
People crossing frontiers
working for a living
trying to take a fast buck
dying to make a killing
Ellie's got pockets
sewn into her coat
places you'd never know
and Danny spends nites
rough riding his boat
for the tough guys
stashing in the limo
Everyone's a gambler
for money or love
it's a sin like nobody knows
chasing after rainbows
when the stakes are high enough
trying to hide a diamond in the shadows
Danny started running
at six years old
the one life he's ever led
Ellie kept the baby
and they both know
the three of them
got to be fed
Everyone's a gambler
for money or love
it's a sin like nobody knows
chasing after rainbows
when the stakes are high enough
trying to hide a diamond in the shadows
Tonite there's orders at the border
to nail one or two
ain't it funny
how your face gets known
all the fat bellies
wearing shiny shoes
wont sleep until the boys get home
And Danny's gone back
for one last run
this time the treasure's in the trash
Ellie's sitting up
with one hand on the phone
but either way she gets the cash
Everyone's a gambler
for money or love
it's a sin like nobody knows
chasing after rainbows
when the stakes are high enough
trying to hide a diamond in the shadows
