Once Saved Always Saved ??
I painted a house once, about 30 years ago.
I did the garage door at the end of the day.
It rained later that evening.
The paint was dry on all of the house except the garage door.
The bottom fifth was completely washed away,
Due to raindrops bouncing off the cement..
So painting the garage door didn't count - it has to dry.
Only then can I say it really has been painted.
Ditto with salvation.Only after a certain point does it become permanent.
Only when you go thru trials without abandoning your faith does it become saving faith.
Clay before passing thru the fire of the kiln may be a bowl.
But it's moldable, maulable, not fixed permanently, not a forever bowl.
But post-fire it really does become durable, unchanging, fixed.
So instead of "once saved, always saved," I say,
"Once the 'saved' person goes thru the fire, only THEN are they 'always saved'."
