Linger

The screaming echoed around the room, reverberating back to her
He stepped closer and grabbed her hair, tugging her head back with a sickening snap
Ending her, she collapsed, her arms pulled back at unnatural angles, wrists in chains

Even now, as he stroked her cold cheek
Nerves twitched beneath his fingers, those last lingering bits of life
Desire found him there
